Service vessels

There are many types of service boats:

ASSISTANCE SHIPS (multi purpose supply vessels, tug boats…)

  • Dimensional and weight constraints, because these boats have to be easy to handle, easy maintenance and some of them have to be fast boats

RESEARCH VESSELS :

  • HVAC design adapted to research equipment located on-board (maximum temperature, hygrometry requirements, …)
  • Environmental constraints depending on the research area, and fluctuating according to specific missions
  • Use and capacity conditions might change while at sea (tug operation, sea rescue assistance

PASSENGERS VESSELS :

  • Energy saving solutions are used, such as : lounge ventilation instead of air conditioning during summer, energy recovery on motor circuit during winter, use of an air conditioning heat pump (increasing efficiency and reducing diesel cost)
  • Regulation adapted to the different operation phases of the vessel
  • Gain in weight and dimensions in order to optimize sailing trips and transportation
